I present the series «SCRIPTURES AND CALIGRAPHY». Unique abstract paintings with different techniques: wax, pastel, oil, Chinese ink, on wood or paper.
This series perhaps began before I was born, before “knowledge”, I don’t know, but it’s probable. I think it was born in the mind, in the personal and collective unconscious, but it didn’t come to light until I started my studies in Fine Arts. I have been working on this theme for more than 30 years. We can relate this work to what is already known as “automatic writing”. We can also see it as free calligraphy, as I like to call it, gestural poetry.
I consider this artistic path as the most spontaneous of my creative journey, with my feelings on the surface to express something that often would not come out otherwise. More than 1000 works make up this series. As is logical, each work is unique and unrepeatable, although we can say that we can recognise our own “style”.
