What I “feel” as Ephemeral Art is “memory”. Perhaps this is a good definition to explain how this type of art is understoodโฆ Everything is EPHEMERAL, even the universe itself, it seemsโฆ Paradoxically, human beings are primarily interested in ETERNITY, leaving their mark, being immortalโฆ It has always been an obsession throughout time. Leaving a physical, intellectual legacyโฆ Even using the most durable materials such as stone and bronze have been considered โthe bestโ for ensuring the longevity of an artist’s work. I would even say that, for many people, buying a work made of hard materials is proof of the value of this creation and of its artistic and market value. It’s a bit like a house: if it’s made of stone or brick, we feel it’s better than one made of woodโฆ At the end of the day, we seek security for ourselves, for our investmentโฆ
I want to feel, understand, reflect and remember. As I said at the beginning, I believe that ephemeral art is โmemoryโ. And memory is not tangible, but it does endure as long as there is intention.
